Design Lead Anthony Gallegos shares his heartfelt thanks on behalf of the development team for the overwhelming support for Subnautica 2 so far. He’s also covering what to expect in our upcoming updates over the coming weeks and months.

We will be pivoting from the frequent, rapid hotfixes we’ve been releasing since Early Access launch to focus on our upcoming EA1.1 update. So watch out for that in a few weeks!

(Spoiler Talk) The game shows you could have a survival knife.

The fabricator on your lifepod is labeled as 'Jailbreak'. Later on you find out that illegal explosives have been made and used with a fabricator. There is no reason why the devs can't compromise at this point and just place a single survival knife somewhere in the world for you to find. Let there be an interaction with Noa about it. Have Noa acknowledge what they have is illegal, but they'll allow it for now because you are the Qualified Investigator and that knife might be evidence, but no modifications ...

We really need to be able to defend ourselves i got slaughtered investigating the tadpole pens i got to an area where the need to defend was a must now i have lost my tadpole and some good finds

Subnautica 2 Early Access Hotfix 3

Hello Subnauts,

We just released our third Subnautica 2 hotfix!

In this hotfix, we’ve addressed some DLSS issues, upgraded DLSS to version 4.5[www.nvidia.com], modified creature behavior further, and fixed additional crashes.

Check out the full list of changes in today’s patch below.

Fixed issues that could cause DLSS to crash the game.
Fixed issues that could cause DLSS settings not to be saved correctly.
Fixed Frame Generation not being available in certain versions of the game.
Upgraded DLSS to version 4.5.
Reduced Interior Wall costs to 1/4 of their previous price.
Hammerheads no longer attack unpiloted Tadpoles.
- Hammerheads can still take an interest in Tadpoles.
Fixed Hammerheads occasionally not being attracted to Flares.
Increased overall damage of Marrowbreaches.
Spaced out Marrowbreach attacks to occur less frequently.
Reduced Nibbler perception range, making players less visible to them.
Increased the duration Nibblers circle the player before attacking.
Reduced overall movement speed of the Nibblers.
Increased sensitivity of the Nibblers to the Multitool.
Increased overall damage of Nibblers.
Fixed a rare crash when starting games.
Fixed Clients (not the game host) reverting to their previous position when rejoining a multiplayer session.
Fixed Strike Armor modification stacking additively, which could result in a potentially game-breaking state.
Fixed goggles remaining visible in first-person view when exiting the Tadpole Haul Chassis as a passenger.
Localized text callout on the Terms of Service acceptance screen.
Added additional context to crash reports to provide better details for hard-to-reproduce issues.

The game is running perfectly on Proton, for all fellow Linux users!
Games a good successor to Subnautica 1. Feels closer to the original than Below Zero. Devs have earned their bonus.
Ah yes, relaxing underwater exploration. Proof courtroom drama can’t sink a good game.
I’m glad this game made it through all that Krafton ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and that the devs are getting paid as well. We are so back. I wish everyone happy diving.

Pros:
- Beautiful world
- Big ass tree
- Great atmosphere

Cons:
- The ocean knows where you are because it knows where you aren’t
- When the ocean knows where you are it sends biblically accurate creatures of death to your exact coordinates

라고 말했다는 사실이 상당히 충격적임. 소비자가 문제를 제기하면 고칠 생각을 해야지, 자기들 신념 내세우면서 장사를 하려고 하는게 너무 유치함. 상술한 글이 욕 좀 먹는다 싶으니까 글 내렸다는데, Nolt에 비슷한 피드백 올라오니까 거기서 하는 말이

["완전히 죽일 수 없는 것보다는, 죽이면 뭔가 안좋은 일이 생기는 쪽이 더 좋겠다"]
라고 하고 있음. 안좋은 일이 생겨? "죽일만한 동기를 찾을 수 없게" 만들어야지 "죽이지 말랬는데 죽였어? 너는 패널티 맛 좀 보렴" 이렇게 하겠다는게 오픈월드 게임에서 할만한 짓인가 고민하게 됨. 지들이 의도한 방향으로 플레이어의 모든 행동을 통제하고 싶었다면 오픈월드로 오지 말고 에일리언이나 바하같은 "닫힌" 게임을 만들었어야지 이새낀 전혀 고집 꺾을 생각이 없음 그냥 심술난 7살짜리 애랑 대화하는 것 같음. 물론 저 두 글 쓴 사람이 모든 개발자를 대변하는 것은 아니겠지만, 서브노티카 시리즈에 대단한 애정이 있는 사람으로서 대단히 아쉬움.

레비아탄급 생명체들만 못 죽이게 만든거라면 얘네가 압도적인 위협을 계속 유지하고 싶었구나 라고 이해라도 하지
자꾸 주변에 와서 툭툭 치는 잡어들 쫓아내지도 못하는 병신겜을 번거로워서 어떻게 하라는거냐?

나온지 3일 된, 기존 시리즈의 속편인데
- 유저랑 기싸움
- 얼기방패
이런 초식 꺼내드는 것부터 존나 비호감임
니네 개발기간 거의 뭐 5년 가까이 되지 않았냐? 그 동안 헬다이버즈 개발진한테 기싸움 강의만 듣다 온거야?

그냥 심해 공포게임을 만들고 싶었으면 소마 같은 게임이나 만들러 가지
뭘 위해서 생존 게임에서 야생 동물 하나도 못 잡게 되어 있는 걸까?
아크 서바이벌이 랩터한테 한 평생 뜯기기만 하면서 반격도 못하고 도망만 치는 게임 이였다면?
맨날 도도 한 마리도 못 헤쳐서 손으로 도도를 들고 모닥불에 그대로 올려서 구워 먹으면서 생활 하라고 했다면?
어린이 교육용 게임을 만들고 싶은 걸까? 이해가 안된다.
시스템 한번 엎기 전까지는 도통 이해할 수 없을 거다.

Subnautica 2 Early Access Hotfix 2

Hello Subnauts,

Our second hotfix for Subnautica 2 is here! We’ve added more resource areas, adjusted Hammerhead behavior, fixed a few bugs and crashes, and made some changes to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Additional changes are currently being worked on to address community feedback on creature balance and overall graphics performance. We will continue to roll out those changes in the coming weeks.

Added more Silver resource areas in early game region
Added more Troilite resource areas in late game region
Adjusted Hammerhead behavior so they are no longer as attracted to Tadpole lights. This previously resulted in Hammerheads following players, even back to their bases, and hanging out there trying to reach the Tadpole
Fixed a bug where players could occasionally be teleported back to their base while exploring in a Tadpole
Fixed an infinite oxygen bug after a player died of hunger or thirst while piloting a Tadpole
Resolved a crash that could occur when losing connection from a multiplayer game
Fixed a crash that could occur randomly in the late game region
Improved performance when using Epic visual settings
Added callout to let players know that telemetry can be turned off at any time from settings
- This callout is only available in English and will be translated in the next patch
Implemented some changes to the Terms of Service
- Revised sections include Preamble, Limited License, Gameplay Videos, Prohibited Uses, Ownership, Section Title, Player-Submitted Content, Limitation of Liability, Transfer of Terms and Conditions
Implemented some changes to the Privacy Policy
- Revised sections include Privacy Notice, What Information Do We Collect, How We Share Your Information, Security of Your Information

Due to the changes in the Terms of Service, you will be prompted to re-accept when you next start Subnautica 2. The changes will be effective immediately or, if required, at the end of any notice period where you live.

Analytics for Subnautica 2 can be turned off at any time from the settings menu.

A FAQ[subnautica.com] clarifying some common community questions and a Fan Content Creator Guidelines[subnautica.com] webpage are also available.

This hotfix may take some time to roll out worldwide.
