Teycon did not leave the franchise but returned with new content just like they did with Terminator. As opposed to Resistance Annihilation Line, however, this is not a DLC but a standalone game. It still feels like a DLC as we do not really have any new mechanics just some new enemies and weapons.

"MagnaVolt! Lethal Response!"

I loved that commercial in RoboCop 2 and the advertisement poster is visible many times in this game. The lethal response in this new story now comes from a new antagonist. At first we clean up the police station and here we take note that there are many dead bodies and some we find in a frozen state. This is interesting and it takes some time to find out what exactly happened.

As Warren is wounded he entrusts Anne with running things at the station. This ensures they are both out of the picture and Robo can alone head out to look into the group of mercenaries taking refuge in the so-called Omni Tower. This is where the majority of the game takes place.

"Bad language makes for bad feelings."

No worries, folks, the bad language returns along with everything that made the first game (and the first two movies) R-rated. We now have 11 chapters to complete and the concept of introducing hub areas we go back to regularly along with several side missions returns. There are new characters, of course, and, in my opinion, an interesting story. The antagonist is voiced by Tom Clarke Hill. Fans of the Sniper Elite franchise will recognise him immediately.

"You! Get outta here! You're obsolete!"

As I said we do not really have any new mechanics here but it does not render this new game obsolete. There are some new enemies - one in particular stands out with the new cryo weapon. We can, of course, use this, too. Every shot requires some charge up but the frozen areas (and enemies) after look fantastic! The new locations also look great (we see the poverty of Detroit through the residential areas) and the game introduces some chapters where we actually play not as RoboCop but as other important characters.

The skill tree has slightly been altered as the so-called Psychology is nowhere to be found and while we only have 11 chapters to do, we will still be able to collect enough XP to max out many of the skills we have. In the end RoboCop feels very (I mean very) powerful.

"What's bugging you, Murph?"

The bugs are bugging me! Some side missions do not trigger. For instance, we enter a room and the person we need to talk to is supposed to sit in front of us but... well... he isn't there. Reloading the last checkpoint solves the issue. There is also a lot of stuttering I experienced and this had nothing to do with the ongoing action. Some locations simply produce a lot of stuttering. Also, during cutscenes the speaker is not always in a central position. It looks weird (and funny sometimes). And when we do dialogues we can once again issue a warning or a ticket but in the end the cutscene showing the end of story remains the same - there are no meaningful choices this time.

"This could look bad for OCP, Johnson. Scramble the best spin team we have."

I am not saying this is a perfect game but boy I had a great time with it. It is way more action-packed than the base game and I really liked the new antagonist(s) and the mysterious person that reaches out to Murphy in the tower. As usual, you will have tons of references to the movies and we even fight against the so-called Otomos, these ninja-like androids that were introduced in the disastrous RoboCop 3. If you liked the first game I believe you'll enjoy this one, too. Too bad it's been almost a year since its release and the optimisation has still been left unfinished (pun intended).

If you ever wanted to feel like Robocop, overpowered, destroying everybody, well this is exactly the game for you.
The RPG progress leads you towards a moment when your gun becomes a mass destruction gun.

And when you think you're down, they let you play as ED-209. That was fun!
