PlayStation not making PC Ports anymore
Honestly, how can they do this? They say one of the reasons are the ''underwhelming sales''. Well, just take a look at Horizon Zero Dawn, Spider-Man and God of War. These titles have sold approximately 15 million copies on Steam alone. Let's say 5 million copies per game. How is that bad for games you release years later after their original release on PlayStation??

I'm so pissed off because now PC players won't get to play games like Wolverine, Until Dawn 2, God of War Laufey, and the next Horizon game.

What do you think about this?

good dont need their garbo games on pc
The underwhelming sales they are referring to are those of their consoles. Ultimately the reason for exclusives is to justify those hardware purchases. That being said I thing their reasoning is to be blunt incredibly outdated. It's not the lack of exclusives that is frustrating adoption.

That'd be a distinct lack of generational improvement, and entry level consoles losing their entry level prices. Consumers just aren't buying the new consoles, because there isn't really a point to spending all of that money, and no a few more exclusives isn't going to change the arithmetic.

That being said Sony hasn't publicly committed to this strategy. Whenever you hear according to insider sources in a news story. That is usually code for we don't want to own this hot potato. We want to be able to say this was never official corporate policy. So we can walk it back with dignity.

Which is probably what they're going to end up doing this time next year. When they decide that they want to at least make money on software. Even if they can't really turn a profit on the selling of hardware.

That being said they probably know it's a bad idea, but some people in the upper echelon are the type that need to get their hands burned. In order to understand why sticking their hands in a fire is stupid. Probably some geriatric who keeps saying this is how it used to work.

Well consoles used be a couple hundred dollars, and generational leaps were plain jaw dropping, and consoles went down in price over a generation. Since none of those realities apply anymore there isn't any reason to think exclusives will push consoles.

Anyway yeah it's pretty dumb, but I'm not all that bothered. There are other fish in the sea, and other fishes really want me. Every year we get thousands of games. Losing a few drops in the bucket is hardly a concern.
Because Sony do not see PC as being essential based on sales figures.

Example:

God of War (2018) sold 23.5 million units on PS5.

God of War (2018) sold 1.5 million units on PC.

good their games are stinky dog poo anyways
They still plan on selling live service games, they are only stopping with the single player game.

I was hoping for Demon Souls to come to PC, but I guess that is out.

Guess they tossed that sale out the window. Luckily there are many more games I can purchase in it's place.

I think that the overwhelming consensus is that dumpster fires don't count, Nobody mentions that, because it's simply not worth mentioning. Sony's shovel ware isn't actually a concession.

I agree, but it is still an important distinction. Don't want people to be confused later on, when they have to sign up for a PSN account to play a horrible live service game.

Not that it will stop most complaints at that time.
What seems to be the issue?
Wished they would ported Gravity Rush 1/2, Last Guardian, Shadow of Colossus and many other to PC. Anyways their is lot of stuff to play and little time.

It was released four years later. Maybe it would have sold more if it was day 1. How would PC be essential to their sales when they treated it as crap by overpriced, late & bad ports?.
The real reason is if you can use steam in a xbox and sony sells titles in steam why even own a playstation.
where you getting these made up numbers from

You do know you can use a search engine to find sales numbers of products right?
It's not that hard.
Since the next xbox supposedly plays PC games, it basically means putting all major exclusives on the xbox. So they killed it.

I don't care because I wasn't expecting Wolverine for a long time anyway because it's a big deal for them.

But I am disappointed about Yotei. I thought we were gonna get that and I was keen on that one.
It's to increase sales of their consoles .

Tho a much simplier way to get people to buy your console would be to not make them cost so much and to stop charging for multiplayer
