there is an unofficial program called sc-controller for linux that used to allow to make profiles for steam controller, similar to the settings in the steam client. later a beta for windows was left incomplete.

that program allowed to easily run any game or program with the steam controller, without needing to launch steam first, which for many things can be very useful.

i think the value of the controller and its potential uses could increase if steam offered an official app that offered the same possibility.
