2011-07-28: 1.09 Beta 22 has been released

A new 1.09 beta has just been released (and will be automatically installed for you by the ZLauncher). Here are a few of the changes you'll find in this release:

- Improved netcode

- Improved the PiP to show health/armor next to the player's name.

- Survival improvements: joins are blocked when the last player dies and before the map restarts. Also, players lose any weapons/items from previous rounds if they remain spectators for over a minute since the map start.

- When someone dies in overtime in CTF and DDOM modes, he will be forced to remain dead for a period directly proportional to the time already played in overtime (2 seconds delay per minute played). This is intended to serve as a tie-breaker.

- When a round starts in double domination (after a team score), all players are teleported to their team spawns. This is done to avoid camping on the dom. points.

- Security and Aiming cameras now work online.
2011-05-27: Welcome to the newly designed ZDaemon website

We hope that you will find the new design to be cleaner, better organized and more visually appealing than the former one. It is intended to provide our users with up to date information and important announcements. It also provides the ZDaemon team with a convenient way to keep in touch with the community.

We would like to extend our special thanks to Adereth (Hexadecima) for the time and effort invested in creating a website we can be proud of.

Discussion: ZDaemon offered through STEAM?

A discussion was recently started by me, to see how ZDaemon's lead designers view is on integrating ZDaemon with the STEAM platform.
Surely i think this has a lot to offer and no downsides at all...but what if everyone would like to see this happen?
They might want to hear your voice too...
The discussion can be found here:
http://forums.zdaemon.org/viewtopic.php?t=11922

Servers Banned from Launcher Posted 11/27/2007 by Raider

Servers Banned from Launcher

Any server which does not use the master ban list will be removed from the server list in the launcher. The global ban list is intended to eliminate cheaters and other banned users from public servers.

We have recently observed several servers which either intentionally or unintentionally ignore the master ban list. We will not allow anyone to circumvent the ban list for any server that advertises to the ZDaemon master.

If your server has been banned for this reason, you can correct the problem and contact the ZDaemon staff and request to have your server un-banned.

Mandatory Launcher Upgrade

We are about to move the ZDIRC server to a new location because of continuing line trouble at its present location. The transition should be smooth, except for one thing: the ISP at the new location filters the 6667 port, so we'll have to use the 6668 port. This means that people will either have to use the most recent version of the launchers (either ZLauncher or IDE), or make a manual connection to zdirc.ath.cx and specify the 6668 port. Sorry about any inconvenience folks, but this is not something we chose.

Anyway, the switchover should happen within the next couple of hours; if you find yourself unable to connect by tomorrow, chances are you use an older launcher, so you will need to upgrade. You can get the most recent version of ZLauncher from:
http://lupus.keystone.gr/zlauncher10803e-setup.exe (setup style)
http://lupus.keystone.gr/zlauncher10803e.zip (zip style)
