Kyivan Rus’, centred on Kyiv, existed from the late 800s and reached its height in the 900s–1000s. Moscow is not even mentioned in the historical record until 1147, and only became a separate northeastern principality much later, in the late 1200s. The Tsardom of Russia was not proclaimed until 1547.

Kyiv was not “created by Russia.” Russia came later, then tried to inherit and rebrand Kyivan Rus’ history as its own. Basic timeline stuff. Russians live in a fantasy world with a fake identity.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is indefensible, and pretending it’s just “history” or “security concerns” while civilians are being killed and land is being seized is morally bankrupt.
