Gatcha like RNG, without real money.

You have to break as much as you can the RNG.

The grind is real to unlock everything, and no micro-transaction to speed it up.

This is a godly gorgeous game with a crazy amount of attention given to a ton
of polishing details all across the board

__BUT__

if there are many things to like, there are many things to dislike too.

You better know what you are dealing with: this game is extremely brutal,
vicious, punishing to sadistic and often bluntly unfair. It requires a huge
amount of commitment. Now, you know that you will bang your head against the
wall and throw your gamepad/keyboard out of the window.

Do not play fair, the game won't and it will even stab you in the back when you
least expect it. It will be punishing in ways you are not used to, for instance
there are not that many fast die-and-retry loops in this game, namely you'll
get boring to annoying walks of shame more often than you think, a real drag.
There will be severe grinding of resources.

For most of us, if not all, and that too often, gamepad/keyboard skills won't
be enough and you will have to work out a way to reduce, and reduce only, the
amount of luck, yes you read luck, you need to progress through the game.
Namely, to make it bearable, don't forget you have stats/tools/weapons and
fighting styles to care about. You will have to deal with several high
speed sources of damage which will be heavy on RNG and unsynchronized, in other
words, chaotic: "git gud" won't be enough.
For too many bosses|gauntlets/arenas, I did retry one bazillion times until I
got the RNG on my side to beat them. I could not figure out a load out/fighting
style in order to break enough the RNG.

Game progression will be, very probably, a disaster: since the game will be
significantly tough for many, when "chewing a bone" in the game, no way to tell
if it is an issue of gamepad/keyboard skills or lacking stats/tools/weapons
with an appropriate devised fighting style. This will reach levels of acute
nerve trampling.

The game is gigantic and backtracking of the entire map will happen ad nauseam.
Felt weird as we all know that more does not mean better.

Some game design elements will expect you to open the map and wander
in it in some "expected" way, and if you are not doing that, some "goals" will be
beyond insane to reach, that based on the size of the map.

There are secrets everywhere, some very well hidden, then if you don't want to
miss anything you will have to hit and to try to go through all walls, corners and
roofs of the entire map.

Do not feel ashamed at looking at a guide once you judge you spent enough
time and effort by yourself, really.

Read Hollow Knight (the first game) lore to understand the origin of Hornet.
The lore is really good.
Once you get the true ending, you can read Silksong lore to see how it fits
with Hollow Knight to fill the parts you did not understand (it is very very cryptic).
It is all about half-higher-beings fighting higher beings.

This game is very 'end game': for most of us, the first true ending run will be tough
to say the least, then the following runs will be very satisfying, more so
if you manage to use the "right" fighting style...

Yes, this game is worth many, MANY, runs.

If you play keyboard, check your keyboard is full NKRO (wikipedia), REALLY!

This game had a Day One very good and polished NATIVE elf/linux build.

Early game: a "good" guy slaughters birds only to test his new bow and I had to do the same thing as the protagonist.

The game "runs" on the steamdeck arch elf/linux, and the game devs seem to work _actively_ at blocking everything which is not the steamdeck hardware with valve proton/wine.

"Notice: Failed to enter the game due to security module initialization failure.(201)"

Think twice before spending bucks in the game...

It is a unity game, we should have native elf/linux binaries.

That said if the images in the community forums are not AI generated, well... this game may be illegal in many countries: anime child/very young teen erotism.

Little, ultra polished platformer, which was designed to be a perfect introduction to speed run.

You can play it like a normal platformer though.

BUT, if you want to S-Rank levels, you MUST know advanced/"hidden" platformer mechanics.

Currently I cannot recommend the game: this game is meant to be played with the keyboard and there is a binding bug (unity on x11?) which makes any non-qwerty keyboard not reasonably "bind-able". (I can workaround this issue because my keyboard has _hardware_ qwerty emulation).

Moreover, I play usually in a 720p-ish window, and the new UI has some shortcomings at this resolution because of window management (overlapping/hiding important information).

The devs are currenly in the sauce fixing all the issues due to early access exit. I'll keep an eye on how it goes.

Scify-ish _SURREAL_ low spec GFX experience, with filthy good music and weird dialogues, all that creating an amazing atmosphere.

I was lucky: I was very receptive to their art.
