[Bug Fix] v 1.0.1 Update Notice

Thank you very much for playing Schrödinger’s Call.

We have just released a hotfix to address several issues affecting some players.

What’s fixed:

Fixed an issue that could prevent progression in certain scenes when playing in French.
Fixed an issue where some BGM tracks could occasionally play simultaneously.

How to update:

The patch should download automatically when you launch Steam.

If it doesn’t update automatically:

Open your Steam Library
Right-click on Schrödinger’s Call
Select Properties → Updates
Make sure Automatic Updates is enabled

This update is now live for all Schrödinger’s Call owners on Steam.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience these issues may have caused.

The single thing that bothers me the most in this game... (Chapter 2 spoilers)

...what DID happen to Lia? That's going to haunt me, how we don't know what happened to her other than she disappeared She's just...gone, and we don't even get a chance to chat with her as a Third Party to find out (CH3 spoilers) We at least know Cyrus/Lucas didn't have time to enjoy his "revenge" against Violet , but Lia's fate is just...a thing of sheer and utter horror for me. ^_^;...

[Bug Report] Progression-Blocking Issue on Some PCs in Europe

We would like to inform you of an issue affecting some PCs in Europe that may prevent players from progressing through the story.

Issue

If the Windows display language is set to French, the game may become unable to progress at certain points in Chapters 2 and 5.

This issue may also occur with display languages other than French. We are currently investigating.

Workaround

Please change your operating system's display language to another language, such as English.

[SPOILER] Probable ENDING explenation/clarification.

While it is undoubtedly obvious that some things are just Mary's interpretation of them, it's also true that the observer(us the player) is cannon as per Hamlet's words, whether that agrees with your interpretation of the ending or not, is in your favor and not at the same time. A few words to explain further; Mary commiting suicide is implied, as per "am i falling, or is the moon falling" line shown a few times, albeit requiring thinking about it, you could not physically see yourself falling in a refl...

[Spoiler] Ending explanation?

Huge spoiler obviously, but was everything was just metaphor for Mary's suicide and the moment (21 nanosecond) before she actually hit the ground? The narration said the moon fell because it looks like that from her falling down perspective, they showed it in the game. The moon didn't fall. there was no apocalypse. no one died except Mary. The limbo world where Mary calls amnesiac spirits was just her own delusion to fulfill her desire (to be needed by others). the story of the spirits she called were rela...

A really great visual novel with some meager flaws.

First, the art direction, the cutscenes and animations are extremely beautiful. Of course, the music is really well made too. Very emotional, very depressing; if you are a sentimental with social issues, this game will give you probably a hard time. Nonetheless, most of the chapters have great story telling.

The flaws are firstly the repetition / exposition problem. I don't know, what it is, but sometimes the protagonist seems a little dense or the writer was way to afraid that the reader would forget some of the plotlines and plot direction. Which isn't complicated, to be honest here. But nonetheless the game forces you to read through several expositions of past dialogues and lore bits, that it stretched the playtime a bit to much.

The second flaw was... one of the chapter's plottwist was... way to obvious. And then the game tried to mislead you with red herings that it really felt too on the nose.

But other than that, it is a really great visual novel. I really enjoyed it. Art and music is so damn beautiful; not on a masterpiece level, but clearly a 8 out of 10.

They put the "visual", in visual novel. First half of the game is not much else besides solid episodic stories accompanied by incredible visuals and music but then the second half starts getting into the grit of the story and is such a wonderful experience.

You could be a cynic and criticize parts of the story that feel like they lack critical detail and whatnot but the whole narrative comes from the perspective of a young girl so that shouldn't be something to care that much about.

These developers have no other games in their catalogue but my god if they ever make something again I will so be there. Like I said, they put the visual in visual novel and I can't stress that enough. The art and sound direction is genuinely such an incredible work of art and vision. Thank You, Mary.

What's the point in the choices?

I'm not trying to be mean, but what's the point of giving players a choice if the game just says "No, that's wrong", and makes you pick again? At that point you might as well not have a choice. I suppose it does count as a memory test....
