Microphone Audio Constantly Dropping
Whenever watching back recordings, my micorphone audio continuously pops in and out, making it very hard to understand me.

It doesn't do it on any other program, especially Discord, so there have been times where something funny happens and I make a comment on it, but it does not get picked up at all in the recording so an element of the moment is lost.

First go to steam settings and then the game recording tab. Turn off automatic gain control in there. Then go to the voice tab of the steam settings and scroll down to voice transmission threshold and put that to off. Then at the bottom of the page, press show on the advanced settings and turn off echo cancellation, noise cancellation, and automatic volume/gain control. You could probably get away with only turning off echo cancellation because in my testing that seems to be the culprit of the cutting in and out. Also scroll up to the top of the voice page and do the microphone test and mess with the input gain to a level you like.

As far as instructions, this is really the only one I didn't already have enabled. I'll do some tests and see how it turns out! I may be a bit since I want to just play a game casually with a friend instead of forcing anything.

I have the same issue, but it prevails even with everything turned off... It sounds fine in the mic test but watching the clip back just the microphone is stuttering :(
Oh good I'm not the only one. I wanted to try this out to see if I could move away from using OBS all the time but I've never had an issue with audio with any other program. Guess I'll have to see if messing with the settings helps, kind of ridiculous that it does this to begin with though.
Hey, for me it worked perfectly after launch of this new feature, but since today my mic cuts out after few seconds. Very weird, any solutions yet?
Anyone find a solution for this?

This doesn't work. This issue has been present for over a year now, no matter what your steam voice or steam recording audio settings are, it still applies some kind of noise/echo cancellation that can not be disabled. It causes bad mic clipping
